This is a breakdown of our equipment list. This is by no means complete but its close. It's possible for this to change. If it does, I will try to update it if it's a major piece of gear. I'm posting this to let people get an idea of what tools we are working with. There is some great stuff, and some cheap stuff, most likely all the cheap stuff has been modified to sound nicer...in fact, a good deal of my equipment has been modified to perform better than factory.
Most of your decision on where to record should be made on the quality of recording that the place does, as well as cost considerations. Equipment doesn't make good recordings, good musicians make good recordings. Good engineers just help document it. Having said that, in this day and age with the amount of studios (and home studios) around it's hard to tell whether it's some corner of a basement with a 30 dollar radioshack mic or a profesional state of the art studio. I know when I have looked into studios it's always annoyed me when they don't have any equipment list, pictures, or any description just '(insert studio name here) studios, professional digital recording!'. ?!?!?! That does me no good, I need more info, pictures, what kind of equipment, who has recorded there?
I will try to keep all of this updated as frequently as I can. Thanks for checking this all out, and if you have any questions always feel free to ask! (gear is just tools, so would you hire someone to fix your house if the only tools he had were a hammer and a saw?... I think not. The more gear the better I say!)
